Case Studies

The increased emphasis on homeland security and anti-terrorism initiatives in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks paved the way for the U. S. military and defense industry to recognize LINE-X ‘s PAXCON® Protective Coatings for their extraordinarily high levels of protection.

In 2001, the Air Force Research Laboratory released technical specs for using a PAXCON proprietary product for blast mitigation. The PAXCON coating was statistically shown to outperform 27 other competitors in a battery of simulated tests conducted by federal agencies and the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD).

The following year the DOD officially named PAXCON as a vendor/supplier in the bomb blast protective coating category, and a tactical partner in the military’s renovation project of the U.S. Pentagon after the 9/11 attacks. PAXCON completed the first phase of its blast-resistant protective coating application at the U.S. Pentagon later that year, and is currently midway through an extended contract at the landmark defense complex.

Most of the information on the PAXCON applications is classified.
